Sri Ramakrishna Math Yelagiri

Annai Sarada Vanam

The Ramakrishna Order of Monks has always been taking keen interest in maintaining the prakritic (Nature) eco system. In that context, the Yelagiri Hills Centre too has a wide variety of grass, shrubs, plants and trees.

On the eve of World Environment Day (5th June 2022), the tree saplings of Ashwattha, Bhel and Neem and also a few Rose saplings were planted in our “Annai Sarada Vanam" (Ma Sarada’s Garden) on the 3rd of June 2022. The soil around the ten coconut trees were cleared of hard stones and replaced with soft mud and proper watering. Likewise renewal of soil was done for the lemon trees section and Mango grove and Jackfruit trees.

It is to be noted that during 2020, the Yelagiri Hills Ashram had planted 2,600 Teak Wood saplings in our wooded gardens. And they are being taken care of with regular watering and clearing of the debris. The trees are growing satisfactorily.
