A new Sadhu Niwas (Monastic Residency) was built and ready for inauguration on 16 January 2022. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the actual inauguration was postponed to 10 February 2022. It was inaugurated by Srimat Swami Gautamananda Ji Maharaj, Vice-President of the Ramakrishna Order and President of the Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai 600 004.

    This has 8 rooms to accommodate monks and brahmacharins. The Yelagiri Hills Ramakrishna Math Retreat Centre was established in 1968, though the land came into the hands of Ramakrishna Math a decade earlier.

    Originally intended to serve sadhus of various branches of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, the Headquarters even today wish to continue to preserve its character and spirit of tapasya (austerity).

   Hence, monks and brahmacharins of the Ramakrishna Order wherever they be, are invited to visit this holy place with prior permission for days convenient to them and spend their time in ‘japa and dhyana’.
